do to minimize your chances of getting sick. And once you get sick, you can somewhat control how long you stay sick by living a healthy lifestyle in general, and by listening to your body specifically. For instance I know that certain foods congest me. If I'm feeling ill or get a headache, I make sure not to eat those foods and in fact eat more lightly altogether.
That being said, I do believe there are germs and they can cause disease. Wasn't Pasteur one of the doctors who decided it would be a good idea for doctors to wash their hands after doing autopsies, before assisting women in labor? We can't minimize the effects of germs and should combat them with good sanitation. People with children know that their children bring home everything going around day care or school. But again there is a lot you can do to minimize illness. If you pump up your immune system with fresh whole food and avoid chemicals and processed foods, you will go a long way toward avoiding what's going around.
